Introduction

The Doctoral Program in Curriculum and Instruction is designed to provide a strong theoretical foundation in curriculum design, instructional strategies, and educational research. Course Guide

Doctoral students must complete 33 credits of coursework (excluding dissertation research). Full-time students typically fulfill coursework requirements and graduate within three to five years.

Graduation Requirements

To earn a Doctorate, students must:

  1. Complete all required coursework.
  2. Pass the qualifying examination.
  3. Successfully present and defend their dissertation proposal.
  4. Complete and pass the final dissertation defense.
  5. Publish at least three academic papers in peer-reviewed educational journals.
  6. Attend at least twelve research seminars hosted by the Institute.
